Types

Visible prints, also known as patent prints, can be seen easily. They are usually found because they are in substances like blood or dirt.

Latent prints are not visible, but are still made with other substances, like sweat or oils. 

Impressed prints, also known as plastic prints, are intentions that are found on soft surfaces like clay. These are usually visible. (Citation 19)
