Toxicology is the study of chemicals that are harmful to humans. This includes substances such as alcohol and drugs. A toxicologists takes organs and body fluids to analyze for such substances. They identify the substance and figure out how much was consumed by the victim and where. They can also describe how it affected the victim. Toxicologists use machines to break down substances to identify the separate components, then figure out what exactly it is. (Citation 5)
